Professor Matthew Tonts

FACTBase Convenor

Professor Matthew Tonts is Committee for Perth’s FACTBase convenor and has a background in human geography and is the Director of The University of Western Australia’s Institute for Regional Development. His research is concerned with the economies and dynamics affecting cities and regions. His research focuses on issues such as enterprise and economic development, labour market change and public policy.

Dr Paul Maginn is the Coordinator of UWA's Urban and Regional Planning programs. His research is focused on planning policy, local government and governance, and the social and cultural dynamics of cosmopolitan cities.
Dr Veronica Huddleston

Currently Associate Professor at UWA, Veronica is a development economist with extensive international development assistance experience in Asia and Australia. Her research and project interests include rural regional development and planning, social dimensions of development projects, joint venture feasibility studies and project evaluation and monitoring.

Currently Assistant Professor at UWA, Kirsten's research interests lie in the human geography impact of globalisation and technology. Having worked in North America, Asia and Australia, she has broad research and consulting experience in areas relating to cultural difference, international trade as well as strategic economic and regional development.
Gemma Davis

Gemma Davis

Research Consultant

Gemma is a research, policy and strategic planning professional with 19 years of experience working in Australia, New Zealand and the Republic of Ireland. Gemma is a consultant for the Committee for Perth and was recently employed by the Committee as Manager of Research and Strategy. Gemma is currently a Director with Davis Consulting Group in New Zealand and is an Honorary Research Fellow with the University of Western Australia. Gemma has authored major reports for the Committee for Perth including the Get a Move On! Project.
Georgia Harford-Mills

Georgia Harford-Mills

Research Officer

Georgia is a Research Officer with the Committee for Perth, joining the organisation in 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Geography and received First Class Honours in Urban and Regional Planning from The University of Western Australia. In addition, Georgia received the 2015 Patrick Armstrong Prize in Geography for her research thesis. To date, she has been involved in researching and coordinating a number of Committee for Perth projects including the landmark Get a Move On! report and the What We Thought Would Kill Us series. She is also responsible for coordinating the annual FACTBase Research program and the Committee’s Working Groups and Project Steering Committees. Georgia is an Adjunct Research Fellow with The University of Western Australia and a Member of the Westport Taskforce Reference Group.
