Feature Article - Most Valuable Contribution by a Member Award

Each year, we acknowledge the outstanding efforts of an individual from one of our member organisations who has made the most valuable contribution to the Committee. This year’s CEO award for the Most Valuable Contribution by a member was awarded to Jay Watson.

Jay is the State General Manager at Westpac Banking Corporation and has been involved in the Committee for Perth since 2013. He was pivotal in securing Westpac’s initial Corporate level membership and their current gold membership, and he remains their designated representative.

Through his commitment to the Committee’s advocacy agenda, Westpac came on board as sponsors of two major projects - Filling the Pool and Bigger & Better Beyond the Boom.

During Jay’s time on both project Steering Committees, he has volunteered many hours, contributing to meetings and workshop sessions. Jay is a willing participant in conversations around gender equality and Filling the Pool and has been a panel member at three of the Committee’s Perth in Focus events.

“It’s a pleasure and an honour to work with the Committee for Perth and the calibre and quality of people you work with assists with your own personal development,” Jay said after receiving the award.

Aside from his participation in our major projects, Jay continually attends member functions and is a visible ambassador of the Committee and its research. Congratulations Jay, thank you for your commitment, passion and drive. You join a list of other worthy recipients.
