All members receive invitations to exclusive, executive business events according to membership status. These are elite level, boutique events at which members have the opportunity to exchange ideas with some of Perth’s leading business and political figures as well as hear from featured national and international speakers, or local experts, aimed at stimulating debate or providing informed opinion on a particular topic.
By staging our events predominantly in boardrooms with capped attendance, we offer members the opportunity for close engagement and interaction with the speakers. What is unique about our events is the calibre of guests gathered around one table and the opportunity that members have to speak as a member of the Committee for Perth as opposed to a representative of their commercial interest.
We have a range of different events aimed at stimulating and encompassing broad cross sections of our membership.
• Food for Thought – this event series is aimed at our key member representative and offers the opportunity for board room style interaction with other members as well as international, national and local expert speakers and politicians. Confirmed guest speakers for 2010 include Bernard Salt, Hon. Premier Colin Barnett, FACTBase findings.
• Executive Women’s Leadership Forum – aimed at female senior executives within our member organisations, this series of events is aimed to provide networking opportunities as well as exposing informative and topical issues relating to the work of the Committee for Perth, gender issues and broader business topics. Confirmed topics to be featured in 2010 include Philanthropy with a presentation by Margarte Seares.
• In Touch – Executive and Personal assistants or other key support staff of our members are invited to regular breakfast events where they have the chance to network together, hear from industry leaders and be informed of the issues currently being addressed by the work of the Committee for Perth. Events in place for 2010 include In Touch with the City featuring Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Perth, Lisa Scaffidi, In Touch with Finance and In Touch with the Arts.
• Committee for Perth Special Events – in addition to our scheduled event series, we regularly stage special events when the opportunity arises. 2010 special events include Perth Alumni dinner, Cultural Compact update seminar, a special walking tour, AGM and End of Year celebration.
• Industry Specific Partnered events – staged jointly with organisations such as the Committee for Economic Development Australia (CEDA), the Property Council of Australia (PCA) and Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIWA) to focus on issues of mutual interest and allow for broader networking opportunities.
We maintain a busy event calendar with events on average at least once a month.
