Sub-Committees

A primary focus of the Board is to set the strategic direction of the organisation.  This is achieved through consultation with our members, Perth’s Alumni and external advocates and advisors.  The Board has established four sub-committees in order to focus on the growth of the organisation as well as incubate a joint venture project with the University of Western Australia.

  • The Growth sub-committee, comprising of three elected Directors appointed annually, ensures that this focus is maintained.  This sub-committee develops strategies for the ongoing growth and viability of the organisation including member growth and retention and grant and commercialisation opportunities as well as developing strategies to increase the influence of the organisation.
  • The FACTBase sub-committee, comprises of Directors Tony Howarth, John Langoulant, and Kate Lamont and, together with our CEO, forms part of a cross-organisational steering committee with UWA academics and a representative from the state government in order to develop the research agenda for our liveability and global connectedness fact base.
  • The Visioning sub-committee, comprises of Directors John Atkins, Ian Fletcher and Evan Campbell and with the CEO are creating a framework in order to develop a vision for greater Perth.
  • The Reconciliation Action Plan sub-committee is lead by Director Joanne Farrell and has the task of working towards the completion and publication of the Committee for Perth’s Reconciliation Action Plan. The plan is due for publication by the end of 2010.
